Congrats to those who have worked hard and deserve this award!!!! But what a bunch of political bull for those that don't.Two year starters over three and four year starters.No State Championships as a starter.Or have never won a State Championship.Some don't even play the position listed.But I guess it helps if your dad is a coach or helps coach.Back to the old who you know! |

I get some of your points. But now we have 3 different ideas. I've always been of the opinion that All State as it is given by year. Should be for that year. The best Players no matter of class being on the team. Weighted toward State tournament teams.....Why...winning is part of what you do...do you have help yes...but ya gotta use it Classic style.
That said.....some schools even at the 6A level have odd rules. Seniors have to be on the team etc. Its hard to be on the team for 4 years if you have 5=6 seniors clogging up the spots. If you are reallly good but a there is an all state quality player ahead of you....you might only start 3 years(Julie Laughlin-Kylee Rounsaville Mustang......Chelsea Garcia-Syd Garcia Moore) The how many years you start thing is fraught with dispair.
What we really need is a change. More girls play, better girls don't make it. Its time to seperate the teams and go 6A and 5A.....But the powers that be would have some silly reason....and they are god. When the poker chips aren't in the way.

The problim with expanding the numbers is when does inflation set in. You could make a case for the larger classes in a given year, but if you go there then you will get all the classes and the quality will drop making it less of an award. |

Forgive me for being a heretic. I think at least in 6A we are "down" a bit...And we still have the players that do not dimish the team..Maybe problems downstream....But 6A deserves its own team. In my rarely humble opinion...lol
Its kinda watered down in the backalley super secret way they do it. We know that.....we just don't want to admit it.
